⚡SMCQ MNM Advent Calendar Day 16: Tim Brady's great acceleration!
🎸🥁Tim Brady and his 100 guitars are back, this time with Sixtrum and two Symphony Orchestras! Rest assured, there'll be room for the audience too😉. Tim Brady's symphony # 12, a work in a single movement, promises to be monumental and striking, in the magical setting of the Oratoire Saint-Joseph de Montréal, a historic site for the SMCQ, which saw the birth of its millennium symphony in 2000.

💫Come and discover the result of the work of four composer/director tandems as a part of the new SMCQ partnership with l'INIS (l'institut national de l'image et du son) and RVQC (Rendez-vous Québec Cinema!).
💫The quatuor mémoire will perform the films' original soundtracks in the first part, followed by the world premiere of the 4 short films!

🎞️De New York, l’ensemble vocal Ekmeles vocal ensemble nous immergera dans des paysages sonores inouïs à l’Agora Hydro-Québec, avec un programme riche en imageries. À mi chemin entre l’histoire et la science fiction, le réel et l’imaginaire, les 6 voix de Ekmeles , parfois aux frontières du bruitisme ou faisant appel à du traitement en direct, seront en interaction avec le visuel.
💫Au programme une place de choix aux compositrices avec Corie Rose Soumah, Zosha Di Castri, Charlotte Mundy, et aussi l’ambitieuse œuvre de 35 minutes « Motorman sextet » de Taylor Brooks.

🌟SMCQ MNM Advent Calendar Day 10: Nostalgic Images
🎞️ From New York, vocal ensemble Ekmeles will immerse us in unheard-of soundscapes at Agora Hydro-Québec, with a program rich in imagery. Midway between history and science fiction, the real and the imaginary, Ekmeles' 6 voices, sometimes bordering on the bruitism or calling on live processing, will be interacting with the visual.
💫A special place on the program for women composers with Corie Rose Soumah, Zosha Di Castri and Charlotte Mundy, as well as the ambitious 35-minute work “Motorman sextet” by Taylor Brooks.

👏Très remarqué lors de son premier concert, ce nouvel ensemble de la relève dédié à la musique contemporaine nous propose un concert-événement où la gestuelle musicale, explorée notamment dans les deux œuvres du compositeur Philippe Leroux au programme, devient une partie du spectacle en soi.
🎵Ce concert sera aussi l’occasion de découvrir le Karlax, un nouvel instrument numérique hypersensible et aux possibilités presque infinies.

Day 7: À l'écoute du geste: give space to the next generation and to beautiful gestures with the new Montreal ensemble Éclat!
👏Highly acclaimed in its first concert, this new up-and-coming ensemble dedicated to contemporary music offers us a concert-event in which musical gesture, explored in particular in the two works by composer Philippe Leroux on the program, becomes a part of the show in itself.
🎵This concert will also be an opportunity to discover the Karlax, a new hypersensitive digital instrument with almost infinite possibilities.
